Crazy Stupid Love is just that, a movie about how crazy and stupid love is, not in the abusive sense, but in the cuddly, fuzzy and condescending sense! The movie shows the weird things that people do for their love! Cal (Steve Carell) and his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) have the perfect life with their two kids. Cal's picture-perfect world comes crashing down on him, when he learns that Emily has been having an affair with her colleague David (Kevin Bacon), who shows all signs of being head over heels in love with Emily. Cal moves out of their house, falls into a habit of getting himself dead drunk at a local bar, and ends up whining and complaining about his wife cheating on him.
Enter Jacob (Ryan Gosling), a very smart and enterprising dude who is very popular with the ladies. He promises to help Cal, gives him a complete makeover, and with a little difficulty, Cal becomes the perfect ladies’ man too! Cal's son Robbie (Jonah Bobo) has a major crush on his babysitter Jessica (Analeigh Tipton) who is four years his senior, but Jessica has a secret crush of her own. Hannah (Emma Stone) is the one lady Jacob was unable to charm, as she refused his advances, claiming that she had a boyfriend.
Cal becomes a hit with the ladies, but Jacob wants to become a one-woman guy after sensing that Hannah is the special one for him. Do Emily and Cal get back together? Will Jacob and Hannah become a pair? What is the fate of Robbie's love? We have one huge joyride in the offing, as Crazy Stupid Love takes us on a journey of love, with Steve Carell's inimitable comic sense and ample doses of humour. Each and every member of the cast adds to the potency of the movie, and brings their unique touch to it. This is one movie that is sure to leave you feeling good at the end! The pace doesn't slacken one bit and the background score has been aptly tuned to the mood of the movie. If you're in the mood for some lighthearted fun, and have an affinity for love, head off to catch Crazy Stupid Love, at a theatre near you!
